Clinical Background:
I received my masters in social work in 1979 and received my credential as a licensed clinical social worker in 2004.
I worked in community based programs as a social worker, for over twenty years, before becoming a psychotherapist.
As a social worker, I assisted, supported and helped to empower families struggling with poverty, and all the related challenges, as well as pregnant teens and teen parents, runaway teens, homebound and mobile elderly, and the sick and dying.
I have also led music workshops and performed in nursing homes, rehabilitative facilities and senior centers
I have worked as a psychotherapist since 2000, when I worked in a mental health clinic serving a broad population. Within a few years I embarked on my own, developing my private practice.
In 2004 I received my degree in music therapy and have been working as a music therapist ever since.
I have studied mindfulness, meditation and the mind body connection over the last fifteen years.
I entered the one-year training at the center for modern psychoanalytic studies in 2013 and have been taking trainings there as well as being in clinical supervision since that time.
